Beginner-friendly 20-30 min setup

What You'll Build

A workflow that listens for new Typeform submissions and automatically creates (or updates) the matching contact in HubSpot, with all form answers mapped to the right CRM properties. No native Zapier-style integration required, and no per-task pricing tiers to worry about.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

1

Connect Typeform's webhook to n8n

In n8n, add a Typeform Trigger node and authenticate with your Typeform account. Select the specific form you want to track. n8n handles the webhook registration on Typeform's side automatically, you don't need to manually paste a webhook URL into Typeform's settings.

2

Authenticate HubSpot

Add a HubSpot node and connect it via a private app token (recommended) or OAuth2. A private app token is usually simpler for a single-workflow integration like this one: create it under HubSpot's Settings > Integrations > Private Apps, with contacts read/write scope.

3

Map form answers to contact properties

Set the HubSpot node's operation to Create or Update Contact, using email as the matching field. Map each Typeform answer (name, email, company size, budget range, whatever your form asks) to its corresponding HubSpot property. If a property doesn't exist yet in HubSpot, create it first as a custom contact property so the mapping has somewhere to land.

4

Add a deal, if this form represents a sales inquiry

If this Typeform is a "request a quote" or "book a call" form rather than a general newsletter signup, add a second HubSpot node set to Create Deal, associated with the contact you just created. Set an initial deal stage so it lands in the right spot on your sales pipeline automatically.

5

Test end to end

Submit a real test entry on the live Typeform form (not the preview mode, live submissions trigger the webhook differently) and confirm the contact (and deal, if applicable) appears correctly in HubSpot within a few seconds.

Common Pitfalls

Testing in preview mode: Typeform's preview/share-link testing doesn't always fire the production webhook the same way a live public submission does. Always test with the real published form.

Missing HubSpot properties: if you map a form field to a HubSpot property that doesn't exist, n8n will either error out or silently drop that field depending on the node version. Create the custom property in HubSpot first, then map to it.

Multiple forms, one workflow: if you manage several Typeform forms, don't route them all through one Typeform Trigger. Use one trigger node per form (or a Switch node keyed on form ID) so field mappings stay clean instead of turning into a giant conditional mess.

Recap

This integration replaces a native Zapier "Typeform to HubSpot" zap with an equivalent n8n workflow you fully control, including custom field logic and deal creation that most off-the-shelf integrations don't support out of the box. Once built, every qualified lead lands in your CRM automatically, with zero manual data entry.
